Is Iceland worth visiting?
This article is a combined opinion of several people who travelled to Iceland at different times and may help you understand whether it is worth visiting Iceland during your exchange or not.

Both my trips with Timetravels, to Iceland and Lapland, were enjoyable overall. The biggest advantage is being able to travel at a relatively low cost with the student discounts. I didn’t join that many activities, so I don’t have much feedback on that. But the ones I did join were pretty good.
We moved around a lot during our trip to Iceland and stayed in different accommodations every few days. Most of the places had rooms shared by more than 10 people. Actually, it wasn’t too uncomfortable, but if there had been smaller room options, I probably would have chosen that instead. The facilities were mostly fine.
The schedule was more relaxed than I expected. We spent much time on the bus each day, and I remember one day when most of the paid activities were grouped together, so I had almost a full free day and only one group activity in the afternoon. Personally, I liked that pace cos I could walk around and manage my energy.
Iceland is definitely worth visiting. It may offer you a bit less freedom compared to planning everything on your own, but it’s significantly more affordable. Having a bus is very convenient in Iceland, where it can be challenging to travel without your own transportation. Especially for international students like me who come from far away, I think it’s one of the best ways to explore the Nordic countries easily.

The Timetravels trip to Iceland was an absolute success and definitely worth it. In just a few days, we managed to see the country’s main attractions, including, for example, the Skógafoss waterfall and the Strokkur Geysir. I was especially impressed by the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. The accommodations were cosy and well-located. The entire program was very well thought out. It was tightly scheduled, but not overwhelming, so we were able to see a lot without feeling rushed. Despite Iceland’s reputation for being an expensive destination, the trip was surprisingly affordable, especially considering everything that was included. I think a trip to Iceland could hardly be cheaper. A big shout-out to the organisers and our guide Ólöf, who did an outstanding job. She was able to give us detailed information about every attraction. Everything was well-planned, the daily schedules were well-balanced, and we were taken care of throughout.

I visited Iceland years ago and fell in love with the place, so I’ve returned several times, a total of three times. Is this the magic of nature that feels like another planet, the hospitality of people, or is it just my current feeling? However, the trips and landscapes I saw remain in my heart forever.
Travelling alone or with my partner gave me a lot of flexibility, and I still managed to keep it reasonably priced. However, many people whom I know were financially destroyed by it. The popularity of Iceland is always on the rise, and it skyrockets prices, especially in high season.
So, travelling with Timetravels could be a nice possibility for our exchanges, as their plans and agreements help us see the most popular things and keep our budget adequate. Additionally, trips typically occur outside the high season, so you won’t have to wait in long lines.
